Little Ted hunts for treasure
Show Notes Transcript

Little Ted has been invited to a pirate party and is going dressed as a pirate. Maybe they'll find some hidden treasure?

Little Ted was excited because he was going to a party. Little Ted was extra excited because he was going to a Pirate party and everyone had to go dressed as a pirate!

“Have you got your pirate outfit sorted?” asked his Daddy.

“Yes almost, but I can’t find my pirate waistcoat” Little Ted said. “I’ve looked everywhere.”

“Did you check in the toy box and under your bed?”

“Yes, well maybe not under my bed, I just checked my bedroom floor. I’ll go and look...”

Little Ted came back downstairs clutching the missing waistcoat “Found it!” he said happily “And its nearly clean.”

His Daddy checked it over and Little Ted was correct, it was nearly clean.

“Right, what else are you wearing?”

“I’ve got a white shirt, a red scarf for around my head, an eye patch and some stripy shorts.”

“And have you come up with a pirate joke yet?” asked his Daddy because everyone coming to the party had to have a joke about pirates.

“Yes and I’ve got my cutlass sword, so you’d better watch out!”

When they got to the party, there were lots of other boys and girls running around the garden shouting Piratey thinks like “Aarr” and “I’m going to make you walk the plank”. Sunni had turned his climbing frame into a makeshift pirate ship and Little Ted climbed onto the platform and pretended he was a lookout in the crows nest at the top of the ship’s mast.

After everyone had got rid of some energy from chasing each other around, Sunni’s Daddy appeared and asked if they would like to go hunting for treasure.

“YES” everyone shouted, jumping up and down.

“Well I was doing some tidying up this morning and I discovered a secret treasure map that’s been hidden away in this tube. It’s got some clues and a big X marks the spot – do you think you’ll be able to solve the clues and find some treasure?”

Little Ted and his friends hunted high and low for clues, each one led on to the next clue and took them inside the house and around the garden. Finally they were back next to the climbing frame which according to the final clue was where the treasure should be.

“I can’t see X or find the treasure” Little Ted complained.

“Maybe you’re not looking hard enough. Remember you have to look up as well as down, when you’re hunting for gold.”

Little Ted looked up and saw a giant X taped to the bottom of the climbing frame platform “Found it”.

But when they opened up the X marks the spot, there was another message

“You getting close to finding treasure, but more searching is needed to earn that pleasure. Keep hunting the grounds for golden rewards and set them free using your swords.”

Everyone started searching again and soon discovered that there were small bags of gold chocolate coins hidden all over the garden. Little Ted and his friends kept on searching until they found every single one of them, then they put them in a pile and Sunni’s Daddy shared out the pirate spoils between them.

When it was time to go home Little Ted was still buzzing with excitement.

“Ahoy there, arrr you ready to go? You look like you’ve had a Kraken time.” asked his Daddy when he came to pick Little Ted up.

“It was brilliant” Little Ted replied.

“And what was your favourite pirate joke?”

“Hmmn it was either

“What sits on the bottom of the sea and shivers? A nervous wreck” or

“Why did the pirate visit the Apple store? He needed a new iPatch” and Little Ted laughed to himself all the way home.
