Little Ted said... Where's Fluffy?
Show Notes Transcript

Little Ted has lost his favourite soft toy Fluffy - a catastrophe all parents can relate to. Where is Fluffy?

Little Ted said “Where’s Fluffy?”

Little Ted said “I can’t find Fluffy anywhere”

Little Ted said “I can’t go to sleep without Fluffy”

“Oh no” said Little Ted’s Mummy “I wonder where Fluffy is.”

“On no” said Little Ted’s Daddy “I hope he isn’t lost.”

Fluffy was Little Ted’s favourite cuddly toy and he took him everywhere with him. Including when he went to bed.

“When did you last have him?” asked his Mummy “he can’t be far away” and she began to check through the house looking for the little rabbit. But after searching high and low, there was still no sign of Fluffy.

“You didn’t take him with you when we went to the park today, did you?” asked his Daddy “I don’t remember you carrying him when we walked back.”

Little Ted thought about this. Maybe he had taken Fluffy to the park. In fact, he was pretty sure that he did take him, because he liked to push him on the swings and watch him go down the slide. But he didn’t remember bringing Fluffy back home.

“I think I left Fluffy sitting on the bench, at the park” Little Ted said trying not to cry. “I hope a big doggy hasn’t run off with him.”

“Oh dear” said Mummy “Poor Fluffy”

“Oh dear” said Daddy “I’d better put my coat on and go and check.”

Mummy and Daddy knew how important Fluffy was to Little Ted and Mummy gave him a cuddle while his Daddy went back to the park to look for Fluffy. Soon his Daddy returned but without Fluffy!

“Don’t worry Little Ted, I’ll go back in the morning and have another look. You’ll just have to cuddle Big Bear tonight instead”

“I don’t want Big Bear, I want Fluffy” Little Ted said “Big Bear’s too big for bedtime.”

“I’m sorry but there’s nothing else we can do tonight. We’ll go back tomorrow when its daylight. I’m sure he’ll turn up.”

In the morning after not sleeping very well, Little Ted was desperate to go and look for Fluffy. As soon as breakfast was over, he put on his shoes and sat waiting at the door for his Daddy.  They retraced their steps from the day before but they still couldn’t find Fluffy anywhere. He wasn’t on the bench. He wasn’t under the bench. Or beside the swings, or roundabout, or slide.

“I want Fluffy” Little Ted said, on the verge of tears “Where’s my Fluffy?”

Then Little Ted’s Daddy had an idea.  “Let’s go to the ice lolly shop we pass our way to the park and ask if anyone has handed Fluffy in.”

They were just about to go into the shop, when they noticed a sign in the window with a picture of Fluffy on it. It said:

FOUND IN PARK

-           small grey rabbit wearing a blue ribbon. If you know who this little bunny belongs to, please call.

Little Ted’s Daddy called the number on the sign and a lady answered.

“I believe you’ve found Fluffy” his Daddy said “I’ve a small boy here who is very relieved to know that he’s safe.”

“No problem. I found him on the park bench but didn’t want to leave him there in case it rained or he got treated roughly by the older children.  My daughter lost a favourite soft toy once so I know how important they are to children. I don’t live very far away – will I meet you at the park?”

Very soon, Little Ted was reunited with Fluffy and squeezing him tightly.

“I’m sorry Fluffy, I promise not to leave you behind again.” Little Ted said and he gave him an extra big hug.
